The Nike Air Foamposite One “Knicks” is set to blindside Nike reatilers November 26. The shoe features a bright orange foamposite upper with hits of royal blue on the mesh tongue, lace eyestay and ankle. A translucent sole finishes off the look on this upcoming foam. We will soon be blessed with this new Knicks inspired Nike Air Foamposite One, originally made only for Spike Lee.

Rumors of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Knicks” set to release started back in 2013.  When Spike Lee debuted a slightly different iteration similar to this one, sneakerheads went absolutely nuts about the pair!  After some time passed we began to think that the sneaker may never hit retailers as no news about it hit the scene.  Then, just recently Nike announced that the Nike Air Foamposite One “Knicks” will be seeing an official release, and now the hype for the sneaker is back.

Spike Lee seen years ago court-side at a Knicks game in a pair that are very similar to the pair releasing November 26.

Now that these fresh kicks are slated to drop November 26, the hype for them is higher than ever. Sneaker blogs, websites, and fashion forums are all talking about these kicks and their release. These somewhat legendary kicks will drop in Nike retailers Wednesday followed by a price tag of $230. This price tag is extremely heavy if you’re a struggling college kid like myself, but if you have money to spare, or are a die-hard Knicks fan, then these iconic kicks are a definite holiday season cop. These shoes will undoubtedly sell out online and in stores in mere seconds. The question to top all other questions is, will you be showing your New York Knicks pride and copping a pair come November 26, or will you be passing on these New York Knick kicks?

Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” : Who wore them better? Soulja Boy vs. Jaden Smith

Candids: June 15, 2009

This week we bring to you another clash of kicks to be spoken about for ages! (Or at least for the next day or two.) This weeks sneaker showdown stars the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” The battle of “Who wore them better?” this week is between rapper Soulja Boy and movie star Jaden Smith.

The Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” released in 2009. It was released as part of a pack including one other shoe, but the red suede model definitely stole the spotlight. The Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” sports a red suede upper along with a black midsole and 3M material on the tongue.

The Raging Bull pack included both A 3M model, as well as a more popular red suede model.

The Raging Bull pack included both A 3M model, as well as a more popular red suede model.

The Raging Bulls come in a very vibrant red with a black midsole and iced out soles. This shoe is very bold, flashy and stylish. This shoe could pose a great challenge when composing an outfit to match it with. An outfit consisting red and black would be the best option for this shoe due to that being it’s primary colors. The braver style savvy sneakerheads may attempt wearing these shoes with other colors but I wouldn’t recommend that to any fashion novices. Keep the outfit sweet and simple and let the shoe speak for itself.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for.

FINISH HIM!

FINISH HIM!

Who did wear the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” better, Soulja Boy or Jaden Smith? Both of these celebrities are often pointed out in the fashion world for their newest duds. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we’ll assume that they actually picked out their own outfits in the images above.

Soulja Boy rocks the Raging Bulls with neutral black jeans, a red v-neck T-shirt, a red hoodie, and of course all of his gold jewelry. Soulja definitely took the flashy approach. Since the sneakers are very flashy themselves, the amount of jewelry is somewhat overpowering the shoes.

Jaden may just be heading back to his hotel room but he still pulls off these shoes nonetheless. He may resemble a lost eskimo, but his red hoodie coupled with the Adidas jogger track-pants goes together beautifully. His overall outfit is stylish and functional, but the wombat attached to his head throws the whole outfit off.

Who do you think wore the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” better, Soulja Boy or Jaden Smith?

Photo Blog: Kicks on Campus

Throughout my blog, I’ve explored many different sneakers, sneaker releases and sneaker battles between celebrities. Being a part of the sneaker community isn’t about who has the nicest kicks, or what shoes celebrities are wearing. Being a member of the sneaker community is about wearing what you like, and expressing yourself through your kicks in your own individual way.

This week I walked around my college, the University of South Florida, and paparazzi’d many unsuspecting people rocking sneakers. I tried my best to be stealthy when taking pictures of people, but the giant camera I had didn’t help me any. Through the occasional awkward encounter and hiding behind plants, I managed to compile numerous pictures displaying the university’s take on sneakers.

The Air Jordan 8 “Doernbecher” is set to grace Nike retailers November 28, 2014. This Air Jordan 8 model was designed by Caden Lampert, a child diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease in which your immune system attacks your nerves. Caden is a passionate basketball player, but his fall back plan could definitely be as a Jordan Brand designer, because his take on the Air Jordan 8 is truly brilliant. Caden may have a life-threatening disease, but he is more so defined by his love for basketball, magic, dirt bike racing and music.

His take on the Air Jordan 8 silhouette features a vivid shade of Blue that features some of his favorite one-liners, including “Brave”, “Rock On” and “Hang Loose”. You can spot a fire-covered basketball on the bottom of the shoe, an icy translucent outsole and an artistic cobra and JUMPMAN logo on the tongue. The inside straps reveal the names of Caden’s brothers, Blake and Ryland, which makes these sneakers even more personal.

The “Doernbecher” color scheme has been implemented by Nike for 11 consecutive years, on multiple shoes silhouettes throughout the Nike brand. The colorway itself is named after the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital located in Portland, Oregon, near the birthplace of footwear and apparel giant, Nike. Nike has works in partnership with the Hospital on collaborative efforts on limited-released sneakers. While some may see this as a cash ploy, Nike donates all of the proceeds back to the Children’s Hospital to assist with the efforts. Now in its eleventh year, this extraordinary program has raised nearly $8 million for the hospital, which uses the funds for everything from clinical programs and hospital construction to providing care for uninsured children.

Not only are these kicks straight fire, but they could also help to save an ill child’s life. Why wouldn’t you buy them? These shoes come with a price tag of $180, which seems to be the norm for recent Jordan Brand releases. Will you be helping the Doernbecher Hospital while continuing to look fresh come November 28, or will you still be in a food coma from Thanksgiving and miss out on this inspirational shoe?

Sneaker Release: Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” set to return to shelves November 28

The Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” is set to hit Nike retailers November 28, 2014. This Jordan 6 colorway may be one of the best colorways featured on the Jordan 6 silhouette, the simple design brings us memories of Mike killing it on court. The Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared has been a favorite among sneakerheads since it was released in 1991. The shoe is made up of a majority black upper with details of infrared and white with an ice blue sole. It was first retroed in 2010. The sneaker will see another retro release in Fall 2014.

air-jordan-6-infrared-from-1991-ebay-01-570x424

The Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” originally released in 1991.

This year’s Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” Retro is closer to the original rendition than ever before thanks to a 3M treatment on the perforations that were missing in subsequent reissues of the model.  It will most likely take 23 more years for the icy outsoles to be as yellow as the original 1991 pair pictured above, but there’s still nothing like the classic model that Mike wore during his first championship season in Chicago. Featuring that ‘Nike Air’ on the heel branding, it’s easy to see why nearly everyone is counting down until November 28th, when we get year’s retro installment. The majority of sneakerheads applaud these kicks for staying true to the infrared and 3M perforations first trademarked by the OG’s back in 1991.

Michael Jordan #23

Jordan proved the hype surrounding him was real as he led the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA Championship. Up 4-1 against the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago closed out a close Game 5 with a 108-101 win.

Enough of the history and opinions, now lets get to the actual price of the Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” scheduled to draw in swarms of sneakerheads from all across the country November 28. These iconic kicks will drop in Nike retailers Black Friday followed by a price tag of $185. This price may seem a little steep for the more cost-friendly sneakerheads; however, with the up in price, Jordan Brand promises a better quality shoe that should last as long as you need them to. These shoes will no doubt sell out online in under 10 seconds. The real question is, will you be rocking these championship ring granting kicks come November 28, or will you keep a tight hold on your wallet?

Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” : Who wore them better? Bow Wow vs. Fabulous

Sneaker battles have been a unspoken duel of kicks in the sneaker community ever since the first pair was handcrafted and shot down an assembly line. This weeks sneaker showdown stars the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow.” The battle of “Who wore them better?” this week is between rappers Bow Wow and Fabulous.

Bow Wow on the set of BET’s “106 & Park.”

Fabulous on the red carpet at the premiere of “Fruitvale Station.”

The Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” dates back to 1985, and features an iconic scheme that trades between black and shadow grey. The leather-built sneaker also utilizes the old school wings logo, and lacks any Jumpman branding on the heel that more recent retros have sported.

The Shadows come in a neutral black and grey all over. This shoe is very muted, understated and minimal. The shoe won’t be a difficult to prepare an outfit for. An outfit consisting of anything black, white, or grey will suffice when dressing for these sneakers. Maybe some small accents, but a less is more approach can be taken. Black is the new black and will forever be the new black. When matching these retro kicks it’s best not to overdo it. Keep it minimal and let the classic speak for itself.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for.

LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUMBLE!

LET’S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUMBLE!

Who did wear the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” better, Bow Wow or Fabulous? Both of these rappers are very popular in the music industry and fashion. Taking note of their fame, they most likely have stylist who dress them, but we’re going to go out on a limb and assume they dressed themselves in the images above.

Bow Wow sports a black and white shirt, white pants and a black and white bandanna in his back right pocket. He definitely took the small accent approach. Since the sneakers are very neutral, the amount of white and black are almost overpowering the shoe itself.

Fabulous may be attending a red carpet event, but he took full advantage of the minimalist approach. A graphic tee plus jeans plus fly kicks always equals a successful outfit. The lack of too much black and white really sets the sneakers off and makes them pop.

Who do you think wore the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” better, Bow Wow or Fabulous?
